In 1972, a true curiosity started operating in Rostock Switzerland: the northernmost ski lift in the GDR. The lift became an attraction. At the turn of the century, operations were discontinued due to a lack of snow and conditions to be met.

I still know that part. A steel cable ran over two shafts. For a small fee, I think 0.50 pfennigs, you could get a wooden handle. On this handle were attached two offset thick carriage bolts , between which the steel cable was clamped to be pulled .
