The Locust Fountain at the confluence of the Nagelstrasse and Fleischstrasse is a thoroughly self-deprecating work by the sculptor Willi Hahn (1920-1995). The fountain with its five Trier originals was donated in 1977 by the Trier carnival society Heuschrec…, which is named here as the name giver. The five figures of Fischer's Maathes, the Wichshänschen, Krons Ton as well as Koorscht and Kneisjen stand around the well, on top of a larger than life grasshopper. The joke is in the detail, because Willi Hahn immortalized himself as the figure that is stuck across the base. He looks with his face into the pedestrian zone, his feet stand out of the stone column in the direction of Brückenstraße. He wears his unmistakable beret and goatee and reveals himself to be a sculptor with a hammer and chisel.

The locust fountain by the sculptor Willi Hahn (1920-1995) is more known as a seat than a fountain in the perception of Trier pedestrians. For a long time this was due to the fact that there was no water in the well basin.
