The chateau in Břeclav gives a somewhat mixed impression because it was rebuilt into a neo-Gothic artificial ruin in the 19th century. But you can now visit the west tower again and climb the viewing platform. When you climb up, you can see the great need for renovation in the adjacent rooms.
Originally, on the site of today's Břeclav Castle, there was a castle founded by Prince Břetislav I between 1041 and 1050, whose task was to protect the trade route across the Dyje River.
