The old border crossings of the Navarrese Pyrenees between Alduides, Baigorri and Baztán have been traditional territory for trade, herding and smuggling, places where the inhabitants of the historic communes of Euskal Herria have set their own standards, laws and lifestyles for centuries in the distribution and rights of use of pastures, the movement of herds, the exploitation of forest resources and the taxes that had to be paid on each side of the mountain range depending on the time of year. The historical, economic and cultural link between the towns of Quinto Real, Baztán and Alduides dates back to time immemorial. In the villages and districts of the mountains the rural environment has changed little, life in the farmhouse is linked to the care of the herds and work in the mowing meadows during the summer months. The landscape is friendly and welcoming, the forests and valleys are an invitation for mountain hikers and the old traditional paths are ideal paths to enter the kingdom of myths, legends and traditional Baztandarra culture.
