The church is a nationally known landmark. Rightly a postcard motif, as it is located at the highest point of the picturesque village, framed by the magnificent mountain scenery of the southern Julian Alps around the Krn. In the evening you have a great view of the sunset from the forecourt.

"Behold the Heart of the Redeemer - an understandable sign of his indomitable love and an inexhaustible source of true peace. In him "the fullness of God truly dwells" (Col 2:9). The peace that Christ brought to earth comes precisely from this fullness and this love. It is the gift of a loving God who loved man in the heart of his only begotten Son. "He is our peace" (cf.
