The Castle Gardens are a historic green complex at the Royal Castle in Warsaw, stretching between the castle and Wisłostrada. They were created in the Middle Ages, and in the 16th century they took the form of a Renaissance garden. In the following centuries they were gradually expanded, and in the 19th century Jakub Kubicki created the concept of a large park, hiding a busy street in the Kubicki Arcades.

After World War II, the gardens fell into neglect, but reconstruction work has been underway since 1991. The garden will be recreated on three levels: a geometric garden from the Vasa era, a 19th-century hanging garden and a layout referring to the interwar period. The reconstruction is financed by the Royal Castle.

It is interesting that from the 16th to the end of the 18th century, the steep escarpment in front of the castle from the Vistula side was covered only with grass. In the 19th century, the first shrubs and trees were planted here. However, the implementation of the long-existing garden plans was prevented by the turbulent meanders of history in the form of wars.
