The river here is strewn with enormous quartzite blocks, beautifully polished by the force of the river. It bears the name 'Fonds de Quarreux'.
Some blocks are so large that sunbathers spread their towels on them and fully enjoy the sun and the surroundings.
And of course there is a legend to this.
The quartzite rocks are said to be the remains of a mill that was built by the devil himself for a miller who had sold his soul. The miller's worried wife stood up to the devil and made sure that the mill could no longer turn. An angry devil destroyed the mill and killed the woman.
The miller's cries are said to be audible every now and then if you prick up your ears...

One of the most beautiful paths in Belgium, next to the Amblève, which is dotted with large stones. According to popular legend, a work of the devil: a shepherd's petrified sheep. Is close to the river, not sure that this is walkable at high water.
