The bronze sculpture is on loan free of charge from the Balzer art foundry in Niefern and was created for the inauguration of the Würm Plätzchen (Wurm Square) on April 25, 2003.
Together with the birdbath, artfully decorated with small bronze animals by Prof. Adolf Sautter, this sculpture, located on the edge of the "Lower Würm Valley" nature reserve, is a memorial for animal protection. The man stands protectively in front of an ibex, which, as the heraldic animal of the Counts of Leutrum, symbolizes his connection to Würm.
