The former lighthouse has been replaced by a navigation mark and a GPS antenna. Text on plaque: Glapen Lighthouse was constructed in 1857 and closed as a manned station in 1985. The interior renovation of the lighthouse was carried out in 2004-2005. After a year of uninterrupted work, the lighthouse was completely renovated in 2012. Glapen Lighthouse is now a holiday home for Norwegian Coastal Administration employees.
