The Church of San Giovanni Battista is, after the Cathedral of San Lorenzo and the now disappeared Santa Maria del Ponte, the oldest church in Alba.
The church now serves as an art gallery of sacred art. The aim is to show back the accumulated ecclesiastical wealth.

Saint John the Baptist (San Giovanni Battista), to whom this church was dedicated, is - like Saint Joseph - a man on the threshold of the Old and New Testaments.
