The hermitage of San Juan also known as the hermitage of Socueva (town to which it belongs) is a small building raised in a rocky shelter, which is fitted taking advantage of the bottom of it, for which it is considered a semi-rock hermitage .
It is of high medieval origin, approximately from the 9th century (if not a little earlier) and rehabilitated for worship coinciding with the local demographic proliferation of the second half of the 19th century. It is currently abandoned and is barely standing while waiting for the restoration works to be approved. (and it is forbidden to enter)
A real shame because it is in an idyllic place with wonderful views.
