Be sure to stop by, the owner is a cooking instructor himself and the food is excellent. We were there at the end of May, the day before the hut opens - but we didn't know that. When we got to the hut we saw that the hut was still closed, but there was light in the hut. I went in and asked if it was open yet. The innkeeper said without hesitation: “We’re not open yet, you can still get something to eat.” We get a really unique dumpling trifle and share a Kaiserschmarrn.

The Hochalm refuge is located at an altitude of 2174 m at the foot of the Hochwart in the Southern Stubai Alps in a magnificent panoramic location in the midst of beautiful nature. It is the starting point, refreshment stop and base for mountain tours to the Hochwart, Hohe- and Kleine Kreuzspitze, as well as for the Passeier high trail that leads from the hut on the southern slopes of the Jaufenkamm to the Jaufenpass.

A hut in a fantastic location. When the weather is good, the view is fantastic, the food is lovingly prepared and delicious!
