You can still smell the wood here. Beautiful boats are docked here, harbor tours start from here, there is a large playground.
The view of the Baltic Sea is also very nice here.

"Alter Holzhafen" is the name of the industrial and commercial area that lies between the western harbor and the old harbor. The name can be traced back to the fact that wood that reached the Hanseatic city by sea was once stored on this site.

The two street names "Alter Holzhafen" and "Lagerstraße" are also reminiscent of the former function of the area.

Locals and tourists use the harbor-side promenades, from which they can enjoy the view of the shipyard area, what is happening in the harbor and the panorama of the old town.
