In 1927 a limestone quarry was built here, the cable car transported the extracted lime 128 meters over the hill crest to the north side of the hill. There he was unloaded onto the Hüggelbahn, which took him to the steelworks in Georgsmarienhütte. The lime was mainly needed in pig iron production for better slag formation.
