The Neisse bridge between Zelz and Siedlec was officially opened on September 5, 2008. Emergency vehicles should also drive over the bridge in the future. The connection is also important for the development of cross-border tourism, as it connects the parts of the “Muskaueraltenbogen” geopark in Brandenburg and Poland as well as cycle paths on the Neisse and Spreewald rivers with the Polish cycle path network. It was closed to vehicle traffic; Lowerable bollards on the German and Polish sides prevented this.
