Small hill at the entrance to Santiago de Compostela from which you can see the city's cathedral in the distance.
If you are doing the Camino de Santiago, it is a moment of great happiness because it is the first time you see the goal.
If you want to get to the viewpoint, it is the place where the statue of the two pilgrims is located.
The monument located at the top of the hill represents a cross with the symbol of the pilgrim's shell and has inscriptions referring to San Francisco.

Monte do Gozo is a hill located about 5 kilometres from Santiago de Compostela, in Galicia, historically known for being the place from which pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago see the towers of the Cathedral of Santiago for the first time, marking the end of their long journey. Its name, which means "Mountain of Joy", reflects the excitement of pilgrims upon sighting the holy city.

Since the Middle Ages, Monte do Gozo has been a place of great symbolism in the Jacobean pilgrimage. Over the centuries, it has been a meeting and resting point for pilgrims before their arrival in Santiago. In 1993, on the occasion of the celebration of the Jacobean Holy Year, a large monument was inaugurated with two figures of pilgrims looking towards the cathedral, and infrastructures were built to accommodate pilgrims, such as a large hostel.
