The merry-go-round with the twelve wooden horses is Europe's oldest merry-go-round. It was built in 1890. At that time, the carousel and organ were driven by hand by staff in the basement; a motor was installed later. In 1984 the merry-go-round was listed as a monument due to its uniqueness and extensively renovated.
