Before the border was opened, when this section of the autobahn was almost unused, the bridge rest house was valid, other locations had already closed, as a popular destination to have a coffee or something similar at night👍

1967 opened as the first bridge rest house in Germany (one of two in Germany); not far from the former inner-German border (today Bavaria and Thuringia) at the former Hirschberg/Rudolphstein border crossing, the restaurant building spans the A9 between the two motorway service stations;
