Molen de Koornbloem is an authentic tower mill in Goes that is still in use as a flour mill. Wind power drives the millstones and grain is still ground into flour today as it was done more than 200 years ago.
Due to the start of an extensive restoration, the mill will be closed from February 2021 and flour can temporarily no longer be purchased.

About the Koornbloem Piers
On a rampart in the northern corner of the city near the tall TV tower, the runner mill, built in 1801, rises high above the buildings at the former 's-Heer Hendrikskinderenpoort at the cul-de-sac at Paardenweg 8.
This is the only remaining mill of the eleven mills that Goes once owned.
In this town there used to be a tide grain mill (Kleine Kade 43) as well as a buckwheat, wind wheat, bark, wind oil and wind wood sawmill.
The Koornbloem's predecessor was an oil mill, a standard mill that burned down in 1771. The text on the damaged facing brick with beveled corners at the southern entrance to De Koornbloem refers to the founders:
