On the hill of the Klockenberg stands this dilapidated tower of the windmill, which was in operation from the second half of the 16th century until 1912.

The ruined tower of the former windmill on Werner Strasse is one of the oldest surviving structures in Selm. In 1551 Bishop Francis gave permission to build a windmill on the Klockenberg. The round tower with its 4 floors was built from rubble stones on an artificial hill. The sandstone from which the window frames were made was probably mined in a nearby quarry. A storm in the 18th century had eroded the roof and wings. Grain was still ground here until 1911. In 1985 the building was included in the monument list of the town of Selm.
