There are many beautiful houses in Gdańsk's Old Town. Gdańsk has many sights, most of which are located in the Main Town (Głowne Miasto), which lies south of the Old Town. Everything is within a few hundred meters of each other.
Long Street (Ul. Długa) and the adjoining Long Market (Długi Targ) are home to most of the sights and mark the main street of the Main Town and also the Royal Route in Gdańsk. This area, like Mariacka Street (ul. Mariacka), which runs parallel to it, and the river promenade running across it, is entirely pedestrianized.
