    The Wartenstein Castle is idyllically situated on a slope above Kallenberg. The information center of the Soonwald-Nahe Nature Park as well as the permanent exhibition "Forest and Nature", where not only children can learn a lot about the animals and plants in the area, can be found in the cavalier house of the small castle.

          The permanent exhibition "Forest and Nature" and the drinks outlet is open from April to October from Thursday to Monday from 10:30 to 16:30.
          Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

                It is temporary closed for maintanance. So you can visit only the garden and take the back side trail down. Sorry didnt look for a sign till when it will closed.

                        Wartenstein Castle is a former castle north of Kirn in Rhineland-Palatinate. The castle was built around 1357 above the Hahnenbach valley in the district of Oberhausen near Kirn and today serves as a destination and information point for the Soonwald-Nahe Nature Park.
