Older name mentions: 1393 aen die Roent, 1629 aende Roent, 1792 onder de Roondt, 1794 Ront.

Name explanation: Difficult to explain. "The name first appears in 1352 and means 'tree stump, fallen tree' or something like that. This tree was probably in a prominent place or had a striking shape." (according to the information panel on site)
The De Roend neighborhood is located around the road of the same name, Roond

In 1840, the hamlet of De Roond, together with the hamlet of Luissel (then: 'Roond en Luijssel'), contained 38 houses with 242 inhabitants. Today the hamlet consists of approximately 170 houses with approximately 425 inhabitants.

The St. Anna Chapel was built in 1954 by students of the Lower Technical School in Boxtel. Saint Anna is the mother of Mary. She is considered the patroness of housewives, pregnant and childless women. The chapel is maintained by local residents. There are Eucharistic celebrations on July 26 (the feast day of Saint Anna) and on Mother's Day.
