They say you don't know what you've got till it's gone, and with the unrelenting West Texas sun, shade is in true short supply. The only break you'll find from the mid-day sun is typically under some sort of man-made structure, and the small building at the corner of Texas 118 and the turnoff onto Terlingua Ranch Road is the best you'll get for some time to come. Note, there are no other facilities here.
