At Westhove Castle, it's still clearly visible that it must have once been a mighty castle. However, not much remains of the medieval castle, with its outer bailey and main building, moats, ramparts, bridges, gates, and towers—in fact, only the lower sections of a few towers and a few sections of the walls. The castle has been rebuilt so often that little of the original remains.

As of 2017, the castle is largely open to the public (except for the castle attic). A StayOkay hostel is located in the castle and its coach houses. The former orangery houses the Terra Maris museum. A replica of a medieval motte-and-bailey castle has also been built in the castle garden.
