Obbicht Castle stands on the site of a medieval fortress that was destroyed by the Spanish occupiers at the beginning of the 80 Years' War. The castle was restored, but was lost again in the early 18th century due to war violence. The remains were replaced by the current castle in 1780.

The new castle also went up in flames in 1954, but thanks to a successful restoration between 1975 and 1988, it was restored to its full glory. The building, like the adjacent castle farm, is on the list of national monuments. The moats around the castle are fed with water from the Kingbeek. There used to be a paper factory in this stream (1699).

The castle is privately owned and cannot be visited.

Modern castle which still looks very good. Unfortunately you can't get to it. There are many castles to admire in this region.

Very nice little castle.

It shines in a snow-white color that can make your eyes hurt when the sun is strong.

Unfortunately it is not accessible, but it is privately owned.
