A magnificent building! Together with the Margrave's Palace and the palace gardens, it forms an architectural ensemble. Unfortunately, the building can only be viewed from the outside. The central section contains a water hall with significant stucco decoration. The other rooms are used by the university.

Today's orangery was built by Gottfried von Gedeler in 1704-06 and used as a bitter orange house until 1755. In 1818 this building also became the property of the university. The outside baroque facade shows the rococo influence and sandstone sculptures by Elias Räntz. In the middle wing there is a water room with significant stucco furnishings. There used to be fountains that spewed water out of the marble floor. Today the splendid hall is among other things used for weddings. The orangery can only be viewed from the outside.
