Even if the Venner Moor was cleared of peat in the past and is no longer a high moor today, the area is experiencing a slowly progressing renaturation process. It is all the more important that you, as a hiker, only follow the specified paths and do not disturb nature.
Endangered animal species live in the Venner Moor and the vegetation is also special. Anyway, you can best observe the unique nature from designated vantage points and rest areas.
