The Kuhsee is an artificially created lake in the Hochzoll district of Augsburg. The name Kuhsee came about because urban herds of cows were led to water at the old backwater that was once connected to the Lech. The backwater of the Lech was popularly known as the Kuhsee.

The Kuhsee is an artificial lake in the Augsburg district of Hochzoll. It owes its name to its historical use as a watering place for urban cow herds. Today, the Kuhsee serves as a popular local recreation area for residents and visitors.

Leisure activities:

• Swimming: The Kuhsee has stone beaches, extensive lawns and playgrounds that are particularly attractive for families. The water quality is regularly checked by the health department and rated as impeccable.
