The Berumerfehn canal was built around 200 years ago when the town of Berumerfehn (formerly Norder Fehn) was founded. The waters served to drain the moor and remove the peat from the area to the north of the city. The peat was transported by ships that were pulled on a towpath by people. On the route of this towpath, the trail was implemented.

beautiful quiet route on the edge of the Lütetsburger forest, always along the canal between half moon and Nadörst. It only gets loud a couple of times a year when it is race day in the Motodrom (located on the opposite side). The finely graveled path was widened in the summer of 2020 - after it has now "retracted" it can (again) be used as a Use the bike course.
