On the Schlossberg high above Schönberg am Kamp there is the Schonenburg ruin, a few remains of a proud medieval castle fortress can still be seen. With a covered seat you have a wonderful view of Schönberg and the plateau opposite. Starting from the old forge, you can go up the Schlossbergweg.

From the once so proud fortress of Schonenburg from the 12th century. there are only meager remnants left, it has been left to decay for a long time. The stone blocks of the castle walls have probably found a new purpose as the foundation for many a town house or as a fortification wall on the vineyard.
