The Hengsteysee is located near Hagen below the confluence of the Lenne and the Ruhr. You can walk around the Hengsteysee on a 6.5 km long footpath and cycle path, but the views are more beautiful from above.

You can start from the hiking car park on Hohensyburger Strasse, for example. There are "lookouts" here every now and then before heading downhill into the valley to the Hengsteysee bridge. You can then hike along the shore and then hike back up to Syburg to the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial.
