The picnic area at the Bentillekreek has been greatly modified with a beautifully developing green environment and additional elements. Since 2021 there is an extra picnic bench with a board game. This is actually part of a walk with a second picnic bench in the Zonnebos, but can of course also be used on its own. At the picnic area itself you will also find information boards and of course beautiful views. Other picnic tables in the area: at the foot ferry and at the Eel experience spot.

Always easy to know where to have a picnic in a historic place. explanation:
The five creeks (approx. 65 ha) are typical for Sint-Jan-in-Eremo. The creeks are old peat pits, which were created by the reclamation of the marsh or peat areas. These wells became increasingly eroded during countless floods and storm surges. The Bentillekreek is one of the five creeks in Sint-Jan-in-Eremo. It has a very whimsical shape and is bordered by the Leopold Canal.
