The Monolith Gardens Trail is part of the Cerbat Foothills Recreation Area and shows you the vegetation of the Mojave Desert. It will also lead you to unique volcanic rock formations. It's easy to extend this hike connecting to other loop trails in this area. Bring plenty of water and avoid the heat of the day.
The trail is easily followed and is mostly crushed quartzite and rock hard mud. When it gets to bedrock there are white blazes painted to keep you on track. Occasional trail markers here and there with yellow reflectors on top that should shine pretty bright with a flashlight if you get caught out at night.
