With the excursion boats you can go up the Danube from Kehlheim to Kolsten Weltenburg - but you should take the time to at least walk the way back, then you get a completely different impression of the surrounding nature and the views from above!

If you want to get from Kelheim to the Weltenburg monastery, you should cover one route by boat and the other on foot. Whether you take the ship there or back is certainly a matter of taste; However, the outward journey by ship takes longer, so you have more time to look and there is less time pressure when hiking back.

It's more fun to travel through the gap in the small rafts than on the larger excursion boats. They don't go all the way to Kelheim, but after the gap, it's only a further 2 kilometers.
