Zither Reinhold

Was a street musician from Halle and was known throughout the city of Halle. A real city original.

He was born in Glaucha on October 12, 1878. Zither-Reinhold lived by parading through the streets of Halle with his organ grinder. Later he had a zither instead of his organ grinder. Zither-Reinhold died in 1964.
About the fountain

This small fountain was opened in 2002 to commemorate Reinhold Lohse. The fountain was created by the artist Prof. Wolfgang Dreysse.

To commemorate Reinhold Lose, the city of Halle erected a fountain dedicated to him on the corner of Leipziger Strasse and Große Brauhausstrasse. The fountain designed by Wolfgang Dreysse, which shows a sculpture of Lohse playing the zither at the feet of a listener, was opened to the public on June 15, 2002 by Mayor Ingrid Häußler.
