The pine forests of the Jarosa valley are one of the most important reserves of black pine in the Sierra de Guadarrama, with centenary specimens that are over five hundred years old on the slopes of the streams of La Hilera, Calle de los Álamos and La Pinosilla, an old herd of ancient pines with bleached bark that already existed in the times of the Catholic Monarchs. The Silver Forest path is well signposted and includes the ashen tone of the pines in the name of the route. And on the itinerary some of the most intact and wild corners of the Jarosa forests, created by the torrents of the Chorrera, Los Álamos Blancos, Picazuelo, Los Lobos streams and the rest of the ravines that descend through the steep eastern slope of the Carrasqueta rope, formed by a deep river network gathered in the bucolic reservoir of La Jarosa, a pleasant mountain area very visited by hikers, country walkers and mountain bikers. In the pine forests of the Jarosa Valley there are forest trails, trails and mountain paths for all tastes and outdoor sports hobbies. In summer you must carry a reserve of water for the entire excursion.
