The Alte Lahnbrücke is a bridge from the Middle Ages over a shallow section of the Lahn in Limburg. The bridge was part of the early medieval Via Publica trade route and is now the only bridge from the 14th century whose tower has been preserved.
Together with the Limburg Cathedral, it is the most popular photo motif in the city. It also has six arches and a stone figure of St. John of Nepomuk - the patron saint of the bridges.
During the Thirty Years' War, the customs house with the bridge tower was destroyed by the Swedes - but later rebuilt. The bridge was also significantly destroyed during the Second World War, but then rebuilt, partly modernized.
