Simon’s Seat is a gritstone outcrop that rises to 1,591 feet (485 m) on the moors above Wharfedale in the east of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park. Its summit is characterised by gritstone crags and huge, rounded boulders, while the rugged pastures below are quintessential Yorkshire Dales: always a scenic delight.

Simon's Seat is a prominent grit stone outcrop at 485m just within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There is a trig point and amazing views across the Dales.

Simon's Seat is on the Bolton Abbey estate and is accessible to all as it's on open access land.

The approach from The Cavendish Pavillion is a lovely gentle ascent . Particularly beautiful when the heather is out . On a clear day the views from the summit are stunning , you usually have it to yourself . Descending through How Gill why not call at Love Brownies for coffee and cake .
