    The inconspicuous rocks of Elwetrische Horst barely rise above the surrounding pines. The front rock can be climbed over two smaller steps on the east side. Caution, no security, only for experienced users! between the two rocks there is a small cave where you can also spend the night. Only path tracks lead there and no marked paths.

      There are interesting rock formations here at the Elwetritsche Horst with passageways and a small cave. The easiest way to go up is on the northwest side of the rocks. The rocks are the most beautiful there.
      I was worried that you could only get there without a path, but that is not the case.
      On my hike, I targeted the Elwetritsche Horst as the first highlight from the Gerstel district and then wanted to continue across the forest to the Burgenblick highlight. But it was much easier, as you can easily get to the road below the Römerfelsen and just above the Burgenblick.

        The best way to get there is via an unmapped trail that branches off to the right from the "black" side trail on the hiking map. Follow this path to the left along the rock chain and you will come to a beautiful "rock gate" as well as to almost a kind of rock arena.
