The name "Story Bridge" initially seems almost philosophical or poetic - as if the structure could tell stories. But that's deceptive. The bridge is simply named after John Douglas Story, a well-known and important civil servant in Brisbane.

Another nice thing: At night, the Story Bridge is illuminated in many bright, constantly changing colors.

Tip: If you want, you can also climb up the bridge during the Story Bridge Climb. We did the two-hour tour ourselves and had goosebumps the whole way. The 360-degree view from 70 meters up of the skyline and the surrounding area of the city is hard to put into words!
