The UNESCO World Heritage Upper Germanic-Raetian Limes connects the communities in our region. In order to improve the perception of the almost 2000-year-old remains of the Roman border, the LIMES agenda group set up 17 bank objects. Visit the benches on walks between Schöntal and Mainhardt and get to know the legacy of the Romans and Teutons.

The 164 km long border line now runs in the administrative district of Karlsruhe through the Neckar-Odenwald district and in the administrative district of Stuttgart through the Heilbronn district, the Hohenlohe district, the Schwäbisch Hall district, the Rems-Murr district and the Ostalb district. It crosses the towns and communities of Mainhardt, Pfedelbach, Öhringen, Zweiflingen, Forchtenberg, Jagsthausen, Widdern and Schöntal from south to north.

The Limes agenda group was founded in 2007. The Hohenloher Limes section is to be permanently protected, authentically presented, further researched and brought to the attention of a broad public through the work of the AG Limes. The concept of sustainability is also an important guiding principle for this new agenda group. It is to be implemented with regard to the cultural heritage of the Upper Germanic-Raetian Limes in the Hohenlohe area. The AG Limes consists of representatives of the towns and communities of Schöntal, Widdern, Jagsthausen, Forchtenberg, Zweiflingen, Pfedelbach, Öhringen and Mainhardt as well as volunteers and interested citizens.
