Reformed Church, Pany
The church was built in a historicizing post-Gothic style in 1705, when the denominational and political situation in the Prättigau had calmed down again after the devastation of the Graubünden turmoil. Until then, the mother church of the inhabitants of Pany had been the Luzeiner church, and even earlier the one in Jenaz. The church tower received in 1909 from Nicolaus Hartmann jun. a distinctive pointed helmet.
Under the pediment of the canopy facing the street, the verse of the song Naher, meine Gott, zu dir is painted on.
Given the year it was built, the interior of the church is surprising in that it lacks any Baroque style elements. It presents itself as a compact room with a clearly delimited choir closed on three sides, in the middle of which there is a baptismal font on which, according to the Reformed tradition of Graubünden, the Lord's Supper is also celebrated. The pulpit with crowning sound cover is located on the left of the partition to the choir in the nave.
