Seven decades ago, from October 13th to 15th, 1928, the ceremonial inauguration of the "new" Sonneberg town hall took place, an event that was celebrated with a large festival program. With the new building, crowned by the imposing 40m high tower, the then much-noticed urban ensemble around the station forecourt in Sonneberg was completed.
