Fascinating museum based on the site of an old coal mine.

Aside from all the usual displays you would expect from something like this, there is a large section of the facility devoted to the story of the Beaconsfield mine collapse and the subsequent rescue of two miners who were trapped underground.

The ingenuity of the rescuers was something to behold and the story is extremely compelling.

Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters even wrote an acoustic ballad about the miners and took them out for beers once they were rescued!
