"The castle dates from 1718.
City Park Hattem of the Municipality of Roermond is located on the southern edge of the city, in the Roer Valley and the Hambeek is a branch of the Roer. The Roer leaves a clear mark on the entire park, the soil consists of river clay and this is a fertile soil type for the rich number of poplars, beeches, oaks, nuts and plane trees.

In the Hattem park lies Kasteeltje Hattem, the smallest castle in the Netherlands, formerly written as Hattum. The city archivist knows relatively little about the history of the castle..."
