    "... The fire-fighting boat (FLB) 1 of the Duisburg fire department was built in 1973 at the shipyard in Mainz-Mombach.

    Power generator : 1 x 150 hp
    Pump motors : 3 x 230 hp

    The boat is equipped with three fire monitors, each of which delivers 5000 l of water/min at a range of up to 90 m.
    The boat is equipped with a modern radar device for driving in "night and fog".
    With the foam system (26 foam pipes), a foam carpet of approx. 1 km² can be laid out approx. 50 cm high on the water surface while driving.
    The wheelhouse stands on a lifting platform, with which it can be extended to a height of 8.50 m.
    The on-board crane is located on the foredeck, with the help of which the oil suction device stowed in the hold as well as other equipment can be brought into position at the respective place of use. The jib is 20m long, the load capacity is 14 t.

    In addition to other fire-fighting equipment, the dinghy of the fire-fighting boat, the "A-Boot", is housed in the rear deck structure.

    Use of the "A - boat" :
    + for rescuing people and animals from the water

    + in the rescue service, in order to bring emergency doctor and rescue service personnel directly on board a ship that is still sailing in an emergency

    The "A - Boat" is equipped with two outboard motors, each with 75 hp and giving the boat a speed of about 70 km/h. In the event of an emergency, it is manned by 2 men from the fireboat crew. ..."
