The small forest village "Truestrup" was first mentioned in a will, when one of the farms passed into the possession of the monastery Æbleholt. The village originally consisted of 4 yards and a few houses. The inhabitants fed on the order of some fenced fields and pets. The scarce income from agricultural activity was increased by the production of charcoal.
Added to this was a non-legal hunt for animals in the forest.
The memorial stone was erected in 1912 by descendants of the last inhabitant of the village, Niels Jensen.
