The Sterngarten Georgenberg is an open-air planetarium for observing celestial events day and night. The facility was planned by Hermann Mucke and built between 1997 and 2000, and is managed by the Austrian Astronomical Association. The system is the first project of the so-called "horizon astronomy" in Europe, it demonstrates the apparent rotation of the starry sky and the annual course of the sun's path.
