The elaborately crafted wooden sculpture, together with an information board, tells the fairy tale of the "little brother and sister". The figure stands in the middle of the terraces in the Kurpark in Bad Rehburg, albeit somewhat hidden in a cul-de-sac leading off the stairs.

The following fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm comes from the Main region. It was told to them by Marie Müller, known as "Old Marie", and has no literary basis. Old Marie, born in 1947 in Rauschenberg in Hesse, worked as a conductor (housekeeper) in the Wild family of pharmacists, whose daughters were also avid fairy tale collectors. Alongside Hansel and Gretel, "Brother and Sister" is one of the most famous sibling fairy tales. It describes a process of maturation and development. For Sister, her death is not the end, but the transition to true happiness.
